Fettuccine Alfredo

Nothing says I Love You like a big bowl of pasta. We like to grill a few chicken breast and serve them on top. Be careful with the nutmeg.

2 tablespoons butter
1 cup heavy cream
1 lb fettuccine
1 cup grated parmesan
pinch salt and pepper
pinch nutmeg

1.Put butter and 2/3 cup of cream in large pan and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat, then simmer gently for about 1 ½ minutes, or until the cream has thickened slightly.
2.Meanwhile, bring a large pan of lightly slated water to a boil over medium heat. Add the pasta and cook as directions say. Drain the pasta thoroughly and return to the pan, then pour over cream sauce.
3.Toss the pasta in the sauce over a low heat until thoroughly coated.
4.Add the remaining cream to the pasta mixture, and season to taste with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Toss the pasta thoroughly in the mixture while gently heating through. At the last second add the Parmesan cheese and serve.
